The Mayan Collapse
August 5, 2008 – 11:42 pmThere are still a ton of reasons which are to this day debated as to why the Mayan Kingdom collapsed, during the 8th and 9th centuries it is said that the southern lowlands of those areas, in which people of those time wore an amazing selection of mayan clothing, during this collapse people left their places and completely abandoned the mayan kingdom thereafter. This decline was also an addend on with the cessation of inscriptions and huge construction that was ceased.
There is no theory to explain why this mayan city collapsed and why the mayan clothing would be the only thought thereafter of this time, but the theories that there are fall into two categories those being an ecological reason and a non ecological reason. Many people say there were problems such as over population, invasion, revolt and the collapse of the mayan clothing trade routes. The eco ones say a megafauna was the reason, people have recently said that a 200 year drought led to the collapse of this beautiful civilization. The drought theory came about when a team of scientist began studying lake beds around where the mayan clothing civilization took place.
